The 2021 Nissan Rogue's new look won't just spruce up your driveway, it will also have you making excuses to go into town so you can take it for a spin.

Exterior Design and Trim Levels

If you prefer a crossover SUV with bold, modern, and chic styling, the 2021 Rogue certainly ticks that box. Its aggressive stance, large sporty grille, soft curves, and sleek lines are easy on the eyes and will have your family, friends, and neighbors looking twice as you cruise past. The Rogue is available in four trim levels: the S, SV, SL, and Platinum. Each is fully loaded with functional features that are sure to impress.

Power and Performance

The 2021 Nissan Rogue gets its power from one engine, a 2.5-liter inline-four that generates 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. This engine has enough power for the Rogue to negotiate crowded city streets, curvy mountain passes, or fast-paced highways. Nissan's fourth-generation continuously variable transmission (CVT) transfers the 2.5-liter's power to either a front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive system.

Opt for front-wheel drive if you place priority on fuel efficiency, as this setup gets a combination average of 30 mpg. With all-wheel drive, the Rogue boasts five drive modes: Snow, Eco, Sport, Off-road, and Standard. The improved Xtronic CVT simulates up to seven gear steps when you're driving in the Standard or Sport modes, and it also improves the 2021 Rogue's efficiency and acceleration. With available intelligent all-wheel drive, the Rogue can even tackle tough terrain and challenging road conditions. The system toggles power between the front and rear wheels to improve traction when you need it.

The SUV's ride quality has improved dramatically due to a new platform, chassis underpinning, and suspension setup. The suspension has an independent rear suspension system with rigid mounts in the front to enhance handling while providing a much quieter ride. The steering feels more direct, and the Rogue is more nimble when cornering thanks to a rack-mounted electric power steering system and stiffer chassis. Whether you are heading to the grocery store or going on a road trip, the 2021 Rogue will provide you with an excellent driving experience.

Interior Design

The 2021 Rogue's interior is more spacious than ever, with greater head and legroom and ample flexible cargo space. With the rear seats folded forward, the Rogue has up to 74.1 cubic feet of usable cargo space for whatever you need to carry. When the rear seats are up, you still have access to 39.3 cubic feet of storage room.

The rear cargo area is two-tiered but provides a flat-load floor with the rear seats down. This same area can drop 3 inches to give you deeper storage for taller items. Up to five passengers can ride comfortably in the Rogue, and the rear can open up to nearly 90 degrees, allowing easy access for your child's safety seat or your pets.

In the front, you will find a compact electronic shifter, a split console with upper and lower levels, and door cup holders capable of carrying 32-ounce bottles. The front seats are comfortable while giving the right amount of support. An available eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support is customizable for your comfort. Other available interior features, such as tri-zone automatic temperature control, a motion-activated liftgate, and a dual-panel panoramic moonroof, provide additional comfort and convenience.

Family-centered would be an excellent term to describe the 2021 Rogue. Available family-friendly features such as car-seat-ready rear seats, rear sunshades, and four-door keyless entry make the Rogue one of the best crossover SUVs for those with kids and pets.

Entertainment and Technology

Never before has music sounded so good in a crossover SUV. The 2021 Rogue's available Bose premium audio system immerses every passenger in sound with 10 high-performance speakers. Each speaker is strategically placed throughout the cabin to give you the best listening experience possible. The Rogue also offers wireless freedom with available features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless charging, and seamless smartphone connectivity.

The available 8-inch intuitive touch screen, 12-inch digital dashboard, and head-up display keep you in the know as you navigate to your destination. You can customize each of these technological marvels to display only the information you want to see, letting you set your Rogue up to your exact preferences. Along the same lines, the available driver seat's memory system uses the Nissan Intelligent Key to remember up to two drivers, adjusting the seat to your preference automatically before you even get in the vehicle.

Safety Features

Nissan engineers top safety systems into every vehicle, and the 2021 Rogue is no exception. Available safety features in the Rogue include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, high beam assist, intelligent forward collision warning, intelligent blind-spot intervention, and intelligent lane intervention. When parking or negotiating tight spots, the Rogue has available front, side, and rear sonar to alert you of objects nearby.

The 2021 Rogue takes safety to another level with available capabilities such as traffic sign recognition, intelligent driver alertness, and ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link. These features help you stay attentive, navigate stop-and-go traffic, and keep you in your lane. Other available safety features, including 10 standard air bags, zone body construction, an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, and brake assist, add even more safety elements to protect you and your family.

Nissan Safety Technology

Nissan puts safety first in its vehicles by including an impressive array of features and technologies in each car. For example, these safety features help you stay in your lane, and they tell you when your tires are low or if someone approaches from behind as you reverse. At Rydell Nissan of Grand Forks, we want our customers to understand how these technologies help them enjoy their drives around Grand Forks, North Dakota, and surrounding areas. That is why we are looking at the Nissan Safety Suite and other safety technologies that Nissan puts into its cars. more Nissan Safety Shield 360 The Nissan Safety Shield 360 is a set of six safety technologies that are standard in the Nissan Rogue, Leaf, and Altima models. The suite of safety features, which is available as an option on most of the cars and trucks in Nissan's lineup, includes: Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. The automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection system gives you audio and visual alerts, and it applies the brakes to help you avoid a collision. Rear Automatic Braking. This system watches the area directly behind your car for stationary objects that you may not be able to see. When the system detects an object and recognizes that you're not stopping, it can engage the brakes to help you avoid hitting what's behind you or minimize the impact and damage to your car. Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The Rear Cross Traffic Alert system covers the back of your car as you back out of a parking spot. It can detect approaching cars that might be out of your line of sight, and it enables you to stop in time. Blind Spot Warning. The Blind Spot Warnin g picks up on cars in your blind spot as you drive and look to change lanes. If the system detects a car, it alerts you with a chime so you can adjust accordingly. Lane Departure Warning. This system alerts you when you drift out of your lane and are seemingly unaware of your action. The car warns you that you're about to leave the car lane without intent and helps you avoid a collision. High Beam Assist. The High Beam Assist turns off your high beams when it detects oncoming traffic, so you will not blind an oncoming driver by accident. Next, we will look at the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite. Nissan Intelligent Mobility Safety Features Nissan has more safety features available on all its cars to help you stay comfortable and in control during your daily drives. It's known as Nissan Intelligent Mobility, and it is a suite of integrated safety technologies that assist you as you make various maneuvers and lane changes while driving. These safety features and technologies are available on all Nissan models. Intelligent Forward Collision Warning. This feature can "see" around two cars ahead of you and monitor the speed and distance of both cars. When the sensor detects sudden deceleration from either car, it warns you to slow down. Intelligent Lane Intervention. This feature works when the lane markings are visible, and it alerts you when you're getting too close to the lane lines without making an intentional move or signaling. The feature also taps the brakes to get your attention and get you to move back in between the lane lines. Intelligent Back-Up Intervention. This feature can sense when a car is approaching as you reverse out of your parking spot. It works in concert with the RearView Monitor and casts a wider net of awareness beyond the range of the camera. You'll know if someone's coming even before you see them. Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention. Sometimes you will start changing lanes, but you can't see if a car is in your blind spot. The Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention detects the car in your blind spot and engages when you're at risk of interfering with the car in the other lane by applying the brakes and guiding you back into your lane. Next, we will look at Nissan Advanced Safety Technologies. Nissan Advanced Safety Technologies Nissan's cars come equipped with even more safety technologies, and these are standard in every vehicle. Nissan's Advanced Safety Technologies include the following: Nissan Advanced Air Bag System. The Advanced Air Bag System consists of dual-stage supplemental airbags with seat belt sensors, side-impact supplemental airbags built into the front seats, and roof-mounted curtain side-impact airbags to give head protection. The airbags adjust the rate of inflation based on the severity of the crash and seatbelt usage by the driver and passengers. Zone Body Construction. Nissan designs and constructs its vehicles to absorb the impact of a collision and reduce the force that reaches the driver and passengers. Tire Pressure Monitoring System. This system will tell you which tires are at low pressure and by how much. Vehicle Dynamic Control. VDC recognizes when road conditions are slick, and it monitors your steering and braking. Vehicle Dynamic Control also responds to adverse road conditions by slowing down your car and applying brake pressure to specific wheels. Traction Control System. The Traction Control System notices when your tires are spinning and responds by reducing speed and applying the brakes to the tires losing traction. At Rydell Nissan of Grand Forks, we want you to enjoy your Nissan and drive safely. The safety technology developed by Nissan goes a long way towards preventing most collisions and reducing the impact of unavoidable collisions. That said, your tires serve as some of the best safety features on your car. When your tires wear out, come to our Service Center for replacement. The available Navi-link syncs with the navigation system, and it can provide additional information to better predict the traffic flow on the freeway ahead. Speed Adjust by Route can also help you reduce your speed on tight curves and off-ramps, while the Speed Limit Assist can help you set the vehicle's limits to the posted speed limit. ProPilot Park If you're parked in a tight spot where you cannot open the doors on either side, you can control your car through ProPilot Park, using an intelligent key from outside the car.
