Take the family or a group of friends to the Frosty Fox located at 48 E. Eighth St. in Grafton to enjoy homemade food or to celebrate a wedding, birthday, or family reunion in the large Frosty Fox event center. Once seated at your table, start your meal with tasty appetizers like jalapeno poppers, chicken wings, or a chilled shrimp cocktail. For a south-of-the-border salad, choose the taco salad with beef, shredded cheese, olives, zesty salsa, and sour cream.

When it’s time for your main entree, choose from offerings such as angel hair pasta with seafood and a creamy sauce, slow-roasted prime rib, sirloin steak and lobster, or seared salmon with vegetables and a visit to the salad bar. The youngsters have their own menu with access to the salad bar, cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, or macaroni and cheese.

Westside Drive-In

Feel the nostalgia of 1950s drive-ins when you have a meal and a milkshake at Westside Drive-In located at 508 W. 12th St. in Grafton. From burgers with french fries or onion rings to a bucket of popcorn shrimp or chicken strips, you can satisfy your craving for drive-in food at this eclectic drive-in.

This drive-in has been serving fast food since 1958, and it still retains its charm from a bygone era. You can either order food from the walk-up window and eat at one of the shaded picnic tables, or order from the comfort of your car where your food is brought to you by a friendly server.

Signature burgers include the mushroom and Swiss, the Wagon Master with cheese and a secret sauce, or The Spoiler burger served with onion rings on the beef patty. Choose a hot dog or corn dog, a gooey grilled cheese sandwich, or a Sloppy Joe with zesty barbecue sauce. Side orders include fried pickles, breaded mushrooms, and chili cheese fries. Wash your meal down with your favorite flavored milkshake or malt or save room for a refreshing ice cream cone.

Upper Deck Bar & Grill

Located in the charming and rustic Alexander House Motel, the Upper Deck Bar & Grill offers a variety of food. Sit down and order your favorite dinner beverage and have an appetizer such as egg rolls stuffed with savory pork and vegetables, green bean fries, or jalapeno cheese curds. If you like chicken wings, the Upper Deck Bar & Grill serves wings bone-in or boneless. Choose from an extensive array of sauces such as mango habanero, chili lime, barbecue, or spicy honey.

Order one of the burgers like the bacon cheeseburger or fish burger that comes with your choice of potato. Baskets include popcorn shrimp, chicken strips or drummies, or the specialty walleye basket.

For dinner, have a 16-ounce sirloin, 10-ounce rib-eye, or top sirloin steak. For something different, order the 8-ounce sirloin marinated in whiskey that gives the steak a bit of a smoky flavor. Seafood plates include lemon pepper salmon, breaded or broiled walleye, or shrimp prepared in a variety of ways. Chicken meals include chicken Kiev and broiled chicken breast.

To go with your entree, you get a choice of sides including a baked potato, sweet potato fries, or seasoned wild rice. You can visit the Upper Deck Bar & Grill at the Alexander House Motel located at 903 Park St. W. in Park River.

Beth’s Home Cookin’
