Completely redesigned for the 2021 model year, the new Nissan Rogue rides on a new platform. Nissan has made advancements made to the steering, transmission, suspension and overall performance of its famed crossover.

Additionally, this new Rogue borrowed interior styling from the Altima family sedan and the Sentra compact sedan and now offers more standard and available features, particularly when it comes to technology. Step inside any of the Rogue’s four trims (S, SV, SL, and Platinum), and you’ll experience a premium atmosphere, ensuring you have a luxurious driving experience at a fraction of the cost.

Nissan Rogue’s Seating

Blue 2021 Nissan Rogue driving on a winding road

Although the 2021 Rogue is 1.5 inches shorter and 0.2 inches lower than the outgoing model, its interior is roomier. It seats five people in two rows easily and boasts an impressive amount of interior space for a vehicle in this class. Both rows feature NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seats to provide additional levels of comfort. Even taller passengers have plenty of legroom with an increase of 0.6 inches. Also, the rear seats slide and recline, making long road trips more comfortable and enjoyable.

The Rogue’s previous generations received praise for their refined and classy cabins, and the 2021 model continues this trend. You can still find an abundance of soft-touch materials, especially in the upper trims. You’ll also notice that you don’t hear the outside wind noise as much in the cabin as Nissan worked tirelessly to make it as quiet as possible. Acoustic glass in the windshield and a thicker dash insulator helps to make that possible.

The vehicle, which is Nissan’s top-selling model, also includes two complete sets of LATCH connectors for the rear outboard seats. This feature allows your child to sit safely in any position: rear-facing, forward-facing, or in a booster seat. You can get children in and out of the rear seats easily thanks to doors that open almost 90 degrees.

The base trim comes standard with cloth upholstery, a six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, and a four-way manually adjustable passenger seat. Moving up to the SV trim gives you an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and dual-zone automatic climate control. Selecting the Premium package for this trim adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, second-row sunshades that can block any rays from disturbing your child in the rear seats, a dual-pane panoramic moonroof, and a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

If you choose the SL trim, you get genuine leather upholstery, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and a dual-pane panoramic moonroof. It also includes tri-zone automatic climate control, so the driver, front-, and rear-seat passengers can choose their preferred temperatures. For the most luxury, choose the Platinum trim, which gains genuine leather upholstery and heated rear seats.

Storage Space on the Nissan Rogue

Boasting some of the best numbers in its class, the 2021 Rogue has 31.6 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 74.1 cubic feet of space when you fold down these seats. The amount of space with the seats folded is 4.1 cubic feet more compared to the 2020 model. If you want even more space, just pull a lever in the cargo area and the available remote-folding rear seats fold down. Utilize the SUV’s four floor-mounted tie-down hooks to secure your items.

It also has innovative storage spots such as open space under the electronic shifter. Place items in this location if you don’t want them rolling around while you drive. Another option is the center console, which opens from the sides instead of the top. Not only can you house items in the console, but you can pass tissues or toys to rear-seat passengers via this feature. Large door pockets are another option for you to store gear or drinks.

The SL and Platinum trims have an adjustable cargo floor called the Divide-N-Hide, which increases space behind the second row. This feature allows you to rearrange the cargo area into six different configurations, such as creating secret storage or adding flexible shelving. With this feature, the SUV has 36.5 cubic feet of space.

The SUV’s wide hatch opening allows you to load bulkier items, and you can opt for a power or hands-free liftgate to help you easily place and remove items in the trunk. Simply kick your foot under the rear bumper, and the door opens.

Nissan’s Auto Technology

To help you digitally navigate the world, the 2021 Rogue comes with standard NissanConnect and has three available displays so you can customize the information to show what is most important to you. The 12-inch available customizable gauge cluster provides you with plenty of choices. You can select maps to view and add menus so you can see them right above the steering wheel.

The Rogue’s 10.8-inch heads-up display, which is the largest in its class, allows you to see speed and navigation without your eyes leaving the road. Its easy-to-use touch-screen display, which is also the largest in its class, allows you to touch, pinch, and swipe to obtain information found on its crisp graphics and icons. If you prefer, you can use the physical knobs and buttons to operate the system. You also gain access to a USB port, satellite radio, a four-speaker stereo system, and Bluetooth, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Moving up to the SV trim adds two rear USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and a six-speaker stereo system. The SL trim includes a Premium package, which adds a 9-inch touch-screen display, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a 10-speaker Bose premium stereo system. Opting for the top-of-the-line Platinum trim gives you a 9-inch touch-screen display, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless device charging, and a 10-speaker Bose premium stereo system. It also includes a massive 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
