The new Nissan Rogue has space for five passengers and doesn’t have third-row seating. The previous version of the Rogue used to offer a third row, but it was dropped several years ago. Following a redesign of the Rogue for 2021, this compact SUV’s interior stands out for its comfortable and roomy seating, as well as its ample storage space behind the second row instead of a third row. Let’s take a look at what the new Rogue has to offer on the inside.
Seating

The Rogue ‘s two rows of seating offer plenty of space for adult passengers to sit comfortably anywhere in the cabin. In the base trim, the seats get cloth upholstery, but you can choose to upgrade to synthetic leather, genuine leather, and quilted leather depending on your preferred level of comfort.
Up front, the driver gets a six-way adjustable seat in the base trim, while the front passenger’s seat is four-way adjustable. The Rogue’s higher trims allow you to add heated front seats, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and six-way power-adjustable passenger’s seat for more luxury.
Whether you plan on using the Rogue’s second row of seating for adult or child passengers, this compact SUV has you covered. There are two full sets of LATCH connectors on the outermost rear seats, so you can install child seating. The Rogue’s second row of seats can also recline for additional comfort during a long drive.
The Rogue’s interior comfort is supported by its 2.5-liter-inline-four engine, which is paired with a continuous variable transmission to ensure a smooth ride. This setup is good for generating 181 horsepower, which will cope well with most daily driving needs.
Cargo Storage
There’s 31.6 cubic feet behind the second row, which leaves you with plenty of space to transport the weekly groceries or luggage for a family trip away. You’ll also find plenty of storage cubbies in the cabin, including handy storage space in the central console. If you upgrade to the SL or Platinum trims, your cargo capacity behind the second row can be boosted to 36.5 cubic feet thanks to an adjustable floor.
If you fold down the second row of seating, you’ll gain access to 74.1 cubic feet of storage, which is about as good as it gets in terms of maximum cargo capacity in the compact SUV class.
Infotainment and Technology
The Rogue’s standard infotainment setup includes an eight-inch screen, four-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The infotainment screen is mounted prominently on the dashboard, making it easy for passengers to operate and engage with.
The Rogue has several optional infotainment features for added convenience, including two USB ports in the rear of the cabin to add to the two that come standard up front. You can also choose from two premium stereos: one with a six-speaker setup and the other with 10. A wireless hotspot, 9-inch touch screen, and navigation system are also available. To make sure everyone can keep their phones and electronic devices charged, a wireless charging pad is available with some of the higher trims.
The Rogue can be equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control to ensure everyone stays comfortable in the cabin. You can upgrade this to a tri-zone climate control with the higher trims. Other useful technology features worth noting are proximity keyless entry (which always comes in handy if you’re trying to get into your car with your hands full) and a universal garage door opener.
Driver Safety and Assistance
If you’re looking for an SUV with an excellent range of standard safety features, the Rogue should be top of your list. You’ll have access to forward collision warning, as well as pedestrian and cyclist detection to help you avoid accidents. In case the unexpected happens, the Rogue is also fitted with forward and rear automatic emergency braking.
When you take to the highway, the Rogue’s lane departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and rear cross traffic alert will prove useful. Additionally, the Rogue is equipped with rear parking sensors and a rearview camera to help you maneuver your vehicle into or out of a tight parking spot.
If you’re looking for more advanced assistance features, try adding Nissan’s ProPilot Assist, which maintains a set speed and keeps you in your lane on the highway. Adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition are also available. For added assistance in parking, there’s an option to add a surround-view parking camera system, so you can keep track of other vehicles and objects around you while you’re trying to park.
Trims for Interior Comfort
The Rogue’s four trim levels — S, SV, SL, and Platinum — offer you the opportunity to select the level of interior comfort and convenience suited to your needs. The S is the Rogue’s base trim, with a starting price of $25,650.
If you choose the SV trim, you can add the Premium package for an additional $2,660, which includes synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and sunshades in the second row.
The SL trim is equipped with genuine leather upholstery and memory settings for the driver’s seat. There’s a Premium package available with this trim, too. It includes the larger 9-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a navigation system.
The ultimate luxury is available with the Platinum, which allows you to relax into quilted leather upholstery. You also get a 12-inch-instrument cluster, and heated rear seats. The cabin also features ambient lighting.
